Many people have referred to the current period as a golden era for gaming, and that could well be the case; especially considering the monumental improvements that have been made by the likes of Sony and Microsoft and how it is easier now than ever before to Rent PS3 games & Xbox Games.
The Xbox One and the Playstation 4 continue to dominate the headlines, and these look to be the main consoles for the most part of the next decade. There have already been some big game releases on the next gen consoles, including the likes of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Rayman Legends, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroe and The Lego Videogame.
Grand Theft Auto V is yet to be released on the next gen consoles but it did prove to be the biggest selling game last year, and many people may buy the game once more if there are notable improvements on the next gen version. It is almost seen as the game that marked the end of the life for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3, yet many people are still using the now ‘old’ consoles.
The latest games now tend to benefit from outstanding graphics, and you only have to look at the differences of FIFA 14 on the Xbox 360 to the game on the Xbox One; the improvements are huge. Many people say that storylines are not quite as important as they used to be in a game, and online competitions are becoming crucial in terms of sales, yet there still has to be some sort of plot, while it’s fair to say that the storyline is still extremely popular on open world adventure games like Saints Row, GTA and Assassin’s Creed.
There are some disadvantages with the new games, and it tends to all come down to price. Game prices are now at a record high on next gen consoles, and some games are now released at around £60, which is essentially double the price they used to be on the older consoles. It means that checking out the latest game reviews is more important than before, because you may find you’ve wasted a great deal of money on a game that you really don’t enjoy.
That said, even with the fresh new next gen games on the market, old consoles are thriving. South Park: The Stick of Truth claimed top spot in March 2014, and it’s a game where high quality graphics are not necessarily needed to help it succeed. Make sure you consider the titles today before you buy them because they are a lot more expensive, and we have plenty of big games to enjoy over the next several years.
