The dark side to video gaming
Every now and then we think it makes good sense to write a blog post touching on the problems with excessive video gaming, and it’s a fact that a hobby can lead to a habbit, which in turn leads to addiction. This is particularly the case with children and teenagers, and it can lead to:
- Lack of sleep
- Slacking on homework and responsibilities around the house
- Needing a fix to maintain a good mood
- Withdrawal symptoms when away from the console
- Cravings of gaming
- Lack of socialising
- Lack of outdoor activities/adventures
This is no way to live, and if you ever feel as though you’re playing games a bit too much, or even find yourself turning down invitiations to events because you want to play a game, put the controller down! Gaming can cause a person to live in a fantasy world and retreat from healthy social interaction with real people, and when this becomes the norm, you have to change your lifestyle and accept there’s a bigger, more interesting world outside your bedroom door.
