System Shock – A remake of the 1994 classic
In 1994 Origin Systems and Looking Glass made a first-person role-playing action game that ended up shaping this genre. Produced by Warren Spector, directed by Doug Church; System Shock was acclaimed by the critics and loved by its fans.
As you may have heard, Night Dive Studios are working on a remake of this game and its results are fantastic. This game is backed to run from the ground up using Unity, which is the most popular game engine out right now; it is also a highly reliable and easy to use creation environment. Its Kickstarter goal of close to £500,000 it’s pretty close so there’s no doubt System Shock will be successful and achieve many of its long-term goals. We can only hope it doesn’t disappoint because there will be many people hoping this game takes the 1994 classic to the very next level, but we truly believe it will.
