A worry for us all. Anyone who is and knows of a loved one who enjoys gaming. One of the first questions is will this kill them/me?

Unfortunately, the answer is yes. Gaming can in fact kill you. Whilst gaming may not physically harm you resulting in death, it can affect you mentally which can potentially result in your death.

It has been found that gaming can be just as addictive as some drugs and alcohol. This is why it can have just as many serious side effects as these two dangerous items.

With gaming, it can become addictive. You can find that you want to spend more and more time playing the games that you love. Now, whilst you may think this is good for your mental health as it is keeping you calm, reducing your potential suicidal thoughts. Becoming so addicted to gaming that you rely on it can be incredibly dangerous for your own health.

Becoming addicted to gaming is what is likely to cause your death through gaming. This is because the addiction can cause insomnia and other issues. This means that you will not be able to sleep. Your brain will be constantly awake, wanting you to play these games. You’ll find your energy levels decrease, and if you are not able to gain help for this issue, it can result in your death.

Gaming can also cause arthritis. Whilst this may not cause death, it can make living your life more difficult. The withdrawal symptoms you may suffer as gaming needs to stop to prevent further injuries could result in your death.

So, it is important to remember that gaming can result in your death. As scary as it may seem. Take your time, and put precautions in place that help to prevent you from becoming addicted.
